What You Need to Know About Summer Faith Formation
Our Summer Faith Formation program offers an engaging and condensed alternative to the fall program. Through creative activities, para-liturgies, and a vibrant sense of community, students experience faith formation in an exciting two-week session. Each day begins with Mass and ends on a high note!
Requirements for Participation
To ensure the success of all participants, the following guidelines must be met:
Attendance:
FULL ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. Chronic tardiness, early pick-ups, or absences will result in your child not completing the curriculum for this level.
Family Commitment:
Families must attend four parish events throughout the year. Participation is tracked using the
Summer Family Commitment Form
Sacramental Readiness:
All students must be up to date on their Sacraments. OCIC classes are only available during the fall semester.
Sacramental Documentation:
If your child plans to receive a Sacrament this year or next year, a copy of their Baptism and/or First Communion certificate is required.
Class Cap:
All classes are limited to 20 students per class.
*New* Dress Code
“No Shoulders, No Knees”
As part of our Faith Formation program, we help students grow in virtue, including an understanding of modesty and personal dignity. The way we dress is one small but meaningful part of that formation.
- No shoulders: Tops must have sleeves.
- No knees: Shorts are not permitted. Skirts, dresses, and any pants must fall below the knee (the knee should not be visible).
- Pants and jeans are welcome: Both boys and girls may wear pants or jeans, provided they fit modestly and are free of excessive rips or tears.
- Modest fit and coverage: Clothing should not be tight or see-through. Leggings, yoga pants, or similar styles should be worn only under a skirt or dress that reaches mid-thigh or longer.
- Appropriate messages and images: Please avoid crop tops, low-cut shirts, and clothing with inappropriate logos, images, or messages.
- Layers are encouraged: Classrooms can vary in temperature, so students may wish to bring a light sweater.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a respectful learning environment for all students. Students who arrive out of dress code may be asked to return home to change before joining class.
For Confirmation Students
- Additional Requirements:
- Attend monthly Youth Meetings throughout the year.
- Complete all assigned service work, letters, and essays by the given deadlines.
