Deacon David Wilkie

Deacon David Wilkie was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on May 25th, 2024. He is the husband of Christine Wilkie, married June 15th,1996, and father of Jacob, Nathaniel, Gabriel, and Lucian Wilkie. He grew up in Indianapolis and Detroit, the 7th of 9 children, and has called Evans, Georgia home since he came here with the Army in 1996. He is a graduate of Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan class of 1984, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York class of 1988, Uniformed Services University School of the Health Sciences, Bethesda Maryland, Medical Doctor class of 1992, Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma Washington, Neurology Residency 1996, and Master of Theology, Saint Leo University, Saint Leo Florida 2023. He is a long-time catechist, music minister, youth minister, bible study participant, 4th Degree Knight of Columbus at St Teresa and serves as a Neurologist at Charlie Norwood VAMC, focusing on treating Veterans who have experienced combat related Traumatic Brain Injury, Chronic Pain, and Post Traumatic Stress. He served 30 years Active Duty in the US Army including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, retiring at the rank of Colonel in 2014.
