WHAT IS THE ELIJAH CUP?A. A Powerful Prayer for Vocations! The purpose of the Elijah Cup is to provide a focal point for prayer in the home.
Starting the last weekend in January, every Sunday at each of our Masses a family or individual who has volunteered to take home the consecrated chalice, is called forward to receive the Elijah Cup to take home, setting it in a place of honor for a week. Every day for a week, during prayer time, they pray for an increase and perseverance of vocations to the priesthood and religious life as well as for our seminarians. At the end of the week, the Elijah Cup is returned to the church sacristy before Mass for another family or individual to participate.
If you are interested in volunteering to take home the Elijah cup, please call Rita Lovering at (706) 863-2119 or e-mail rita.lovering@comcast.net
